Links to some of the interesting places I've lived. (With links to their local weather and some live camera views) Long Beach, California is the city of my current residence, as well as that of my immediate family. I grew up in the eastern portion of the city, in an area called Los Altos Plaza. California State University; Long Beach, Long Beach Airport, Boeing Aircraft and the Karen and Richard Carpenter Performing Arts Center are all located near this neighborhood. Upon my return from San Diego, I took up residence just east of the downtown area. It is an area known as Alamitos Heights, near the intersection of First and Falcon Avenues. Alamitos Heights is overlooking the Pacific Ocean, The Queen Mary and the nearby Aquarium of the Pacific. Alamitos Heights is just out of the camera's view to the right of the photo below. An item of additional interest, for those people living in the earthquake country of California, would be the USGS-Caltech Seismic Net Map of the Los Angeles Metropolitan area.
The place I lived for nearly 10 years and still consider as my "hometown": I transferred to the city at the request of my employer and immediately fell in love with the dynamic charm and friendly atmosphere that "is" San Diego, California. Note: I am sorry to report that the camera located in Hillcrest, at 5th and University, has gone off-line and is no longer available.
Here is a view of the "Inclined Plane", a local landmark, and a link to visit my place of birth: To return from these links, please use your browser's "back" button
